these are some of the pieces I dyed at the workshop i recently attended

there were 3 dye pots – brown onion skins, red onion skins and wild cherry
i painted egg yolk directly onto cotton fabrics in places before dyeing them
i also painted leaves and sliced avocado seeds with egg yolk, then layered them between cotton fabrics, rolling them up and tying them before simmering in dye for several hours
some are now waiting to be stitched
some were stitched before they went in the dye pots
some were stitched afterwards
