being my usual subversive crocheting self is a lot of fun, but i do have a more serious side
i came across some lovely patterns for babies and decided i had to make them
this decision also provided a solution to the problem of using up my stash of crochet cottons
the wash cloth came from a book called cute and easy crochet (Nicki Trench); the photo frame pattern can be found here
of course, the yarnbombing continues as i repurpose some UFO’s (UnFinished Objects) to decorate some trees –
The stitches used to make the washcloth are so pretty.

I thought you had made a baby BLANKET in your spare time! Glad it was a washcloth or I would have felt pretty inferior this morning 😉 I love your yarn bombing pieces. I’ve never seen anyone do that around here.

No not a blanket! I would hate to inadvertently cause anyone to feel inferior … yarnbombing is great fun, too; just google it and you’ll see some amazing examples =D

I am a “serious” yarnbomber. Make blankets not bombs! That washcloth has a stitch I am not familiar with. Always a humbling and exciting experience for me. Would you please tell me the name of the stitch?

This stitch is actually 2 rows of different stitches – the first row is pairs of clusters (made with 3 trebles, UK) with 2 chains in the middle of each pair, and 1 chain between each pair of clusters. The second row is 1 dc (UK) in each 1 chain space and 2 dc (UK) in each 2 chain space. The cluster row seems too full until you do the second row – then it all straightens up again! =D
