A vintage slip (1940’s) and a lacy jacket pair up beautifully. Love the brooding shades which occurred after eco printing them both with rose, peony and tinctoria leaves, wrapped around an iron spring.

In the dyepot were dolly bush leaves and flowers, used dye liquid from last week, cider vinegar and sea salt. A magical alchemy every time.

Narryna Heritage Museum – 1

What a great time we had yesterday! After a delicious lunch, I visited this beautiful historic home with friends Barb and Lauree. Our main purpose was to see the Tasmanian Art Quilt Prize exhibition but (as always) I could not resist the history and elegance of this place.

Situated at Battery Point in Hobart, it is within easy walking distance of Salamanca and the waterfront.

This short slideshow is the first of several, and features the exterior and outbuildings.
