this journal was made in conjunction with a small quilt of the same name
it features photographs taken on maria island off the east coast of tasmania, australia
it also includes photographs of the items used to make pastel rubbings on the fabrics from which the quilt was made
remnants of these fabrics (which were also printed, painted with dye, and embellished with painted fusible web and metallic foils) were collaged into the journal along with vintage papers and ephemera, commercial fabrics, teabag papers and buttons
the insert inserted inside the front cover features original line drawings and text on old book pages; these are stitched and bound with used teabag paper
