i’ve been making little embroidered birds since the middle of 2011
i think i’ve made hundreds so far and they’re all gone – either sold or given away as gifts to friends and family
no two birds were the same – they were all free cut and free embroidered
in spite of this i felt i needed a change
so now i’m altering the wool felt with a fused paint technique before stitching
Love each one! Nice thought knowing they all have homes among us… keep creating!

Thank you! I used acrylic paint (jo sonya), and brushed that on to fusible web. Then I ironed it onto wool felt, and when the release paper is removed, the paint is left behind! I also tore some strips which I’d painted with contrasting colours before ironing them onto the felt. You might like to give it a try! =D

I love all your little birds. No wonder they disappear almost as quickly as you make them!
