after my previous experiments with microwave dyeing, i couldn’t wait to do some more
this time i used a warmer colour palette
again, i wanted to layer torn strips of graded colour, with simple hand stitching to hold them down
i called this wallhanging love is born in fire, after the song by kate wolfe
again, the vertical strips represent silhouettes or shadows
the circles (as you probably guessed) represent the sun

Gorgeous. I would love to know more about microwave dyeing.

It certainly is fun! I usually do a whole lot in one day, and then might not do it again for months, but I have a lot of ‘fodder’ for future textile art … =D
